Question: What is a mediator?

Answer: A mediator is a person who is specially trained to mediate, which means to guide and help the parties who are in a dispute so they resolve their differences themselves through negotiation, in a way where both parties win.

Jean Brasel, Certified Mediator

As a Certified Family and Business Mediator, Jean Brasel has helped solve many disputes between couples and between businesses and their employees and business-to-business, since 1994. She also conducts successful arbitrations.

Background

Having worked for a number of years for the largest telephone company in New York, Jean gained experience as a Team Leader and Systems Analyst, working with diverse groups in the company, pulling them together to produce and maintain major computer systems. Many serious problems were solved in this way, saving the company time and money.

Since becoming a certified mediator, Jean has helped many businesses, corporations and couples successfully complete their mediations and achieve mutually acceptable agreements.

Jean has mediated for the US Postal Service and the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), handling employer/employee relations and discrimination cases.

She has helped many couples through relationship problems, whether they are working to save their marriage, or working out the exact terms of a divorce.

Having trained employees and managers in companies and corporations for a number of years, Jean offers mediation training to companies in order to train their employees in "How to Get Along With Other Employees" and with their customers, and to use mediation techniques to avoid disputes and litigation.

Jean currently provides a mediation seminar for businesses, called: "How to Handle Misunderstandings In the Workplace®"

Jean is also known as "The Fairy Godmother of Relationships" because of the wonderful, workable results she obtains when resolving personal or business disputes. She has taken her experience and know-how and incorporated it into a useful, easy-to-use video and guidebook (called "Forever Friends") to help couples achieve a better, more satisfying and stable relationship.

Jean says: "I will talk to anyone about anything for you!"
